In order to ensure the stable procurement of oil, a limited and invaluable natural resource, Taiyo Oil has actively been involved in the exploration and production of crude oil since the 1980s. Presently, we have a stake in Angola Japan Oil Co., Ltd. and CIECO North Sea Limited, which, having found oil fields off the coast of Angola in the UK's North Sea, produce crude oil. Presently we have invested in some oil developing companies such as Angola Oil Co., Ltd. which has produced oil from off the coast of Angola.

Oil is indispensable to our everyday lives and industrial activities. Japan imports its vast majority of oil in large tankers from South East Asia and the Middle East. Taiyo Oil selects and imports environment-friendly low sulfur crude oil from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other oil producing states and safely transports it to Shikoku Operations.

At Shikoku Operations, we make continuous efforts to always produce high quality, environment-friendly oil and petrochemical products as well as ensure a safe and stable supply of products, with a view to respond to various demands for oil. Shikoku Operations has received the ISO 9001 certification (for its quality management system) and ISO 14001 certification (for its environmental management system) and focuses on quality assurance, quality maintenance, and environmental friendliness in its operations.

The plant at Yamaguchi Operations is one of the biggest styrene monomer plants in Japan. Complete automation has enabled its efficient operation and production of high quality styrene monomer. Benzene, the primary raw material utilized in styrene monomer production, is being supplied by Shikoku Operations. Yamaguchi Operations has acquired the ISO 9001 certification (for its quality management system) and ISO 14001 certification (for its environmental management system).

Taiyo Oil stably supplies earth friendly products so as to meet the various needs of its customers. In order to ensure that our products are delivered to our customers to support their routine lives, we have consolidated our distribution centers, thereby setting up a consolidated distribution system. The staff at both full-service and self-service stations endeavors to provide the best service it can on a daily basis in a bid to make their respective service stations customer friendly.
