Welfare, Sports aid

Taiyo Oil ensures that it considers "what it can do as a corporation," acting accordingly, and to be engaged proactively in supportive activities such as social welfare activities and sports.

Donation of wheelchairs by volunteer employees

This is an activity that was started in 2000 in response to a suggestion made by a member of Shikoku Operations. Nine wheelchairs had been donated to regional social welfare councils (Kikuma Town, Imabari City) as of August 2011, and the donation of two additional wheelchairs was made recently (July 2013). More than a decade has passed since this activity started, and we will continue it in the future.

Overview of activities

2000 An internal volunteer group was formed. Activities such as the collection of pull-tabs on aluminum cans were started to purchase wheelchairs.
December 2003 A wheelchair was donated to the former Kikuma Town social welfare council. (Enough pull-tabs to buy a wheelchair were collected over a period of about three years.)
October 2005 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (As the circle of activities was extended to local residents, enough pull-tabs to purchase two wheelchairs were collected in a year and 10 months.)
August 2007 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (Owing to the consistent activities of the members, combined with cooperation from local residents, enough pull-tabs to purchase two wheelchairs were collected in a year and 10 months.)
January 2009 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (Owing partly to the cooperation from local residents, enough pull-tabs to purchase two wheelchairs were collected in a year and 5 months.)
August 2011 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (Enough pull-tabs to buy two wheelchairs were collected over a period of about two and a half years.)
July 2013 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (Enough pull-tabs to buy two wheelchairs were collected over a period of about one year.)
May 2015 Two wheelchairs were donated to the social welfare council of Imabari City. (Enough pull-tabs to buy two wheelchairs were collected over a period of about two year.)

Taiyo Oil carries out used school bag donation activities

This is a volunteer activity that was started in May 2014.
In this activity, the “Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP)” collects school bags that children have stopped using due to graduating from elementary school, etc. and donates them to Afghanistan, and it thus supports the school attendance of children, especially girls with limited opportunities for education. The aim is for children to study at school and gain the ability to read and write, and to thereby acquire knowledge and information regarding protecting their own health and that of their family members.
As of May 2016, Taiyo Oil received 75 school bags and school supplies from employees, and donated these to JOICFP.
