Awards Ceremony for the 24th Ehime Shimbun Primary School Book Report Contest

On December 8th, the awards ceremony for the 24th Ehime Shimbun Primary School Book Report Contest, for which Taiyo Oil is a special cosponsor, was held at the headquarters of the Ehime Shimbun Co., Ltd newspaper company. From the 554 entries by primary school pupils in Ehime Prefecture, a total of 36 were selected as winners of the Grand Prizes, Excellence Prizes, and Honorable Mentions. The winning children were presented with their certificates at the awards ceremony.

Koiki Watanabe, a first-grader at Yuzuki Municipal Primary School in Matsuyama, was also awarded the Taiyo Oil SOLATO Prize for best overall report, for her "Book Report on 'The Square Jellyfish Child'" ('Shikakui Kurage no Ko'wo Yonde). She was presented with a certificate and commemorative gift by Taiyo Oil.

Starting this year, the contest now includes two new prizes: the Superintendent of Schools' Prize, and the Prefectural Governor's Prize. Of the winners of the Grand Prizes, Nao Ogasawara, a fifth-grader at Sobiraki Municipal Primary School in Niihama, was awarded the Prefectural Governor's Prize and Misaki Fujii, a third-grader at Shikokuchuo Kamibun Primary School, the Superintendent of Schools' Prize.
