Safety and Environment
Shikoku Operations, located in the scenic Setonai-kai National Park, is striving toward environmental preservation and safety in the beautiful surroundings of the park and aiming at coexistence with the local community.

Yamaguchi Operations, located in the Nishi-Oki area, which extends into Ube City and Sanyo-Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, works actively toward maintaining harmony with the environment and safety as a member of the community and is engaged in producing styrene monomer.

In order to respond to domestic and international demand for styrene monomer, Yamaguchi Operations is proactive in its efforts towards both expansion and streamlining.
Based on the belief that styrene monomer, a widely used industrial material, must be supplied in a stable manner and be of high quality so that it is eco-friendly, Yamaguchi Operations has acquired ISO9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management System) certifications in order to continue moving steadily towards the future.

Shikoku Operations has worked actively to upgrade, expand, and also rationalize its operation to respond to different demands for petroleum.

Shikoku Operations has established an environment management system and is ISO 14001 certified. We are working towards systemic and continuous environmental improvement by performing the PDCA (Plan -> Do -> Check -> Act) cycle according to Shikoku Operations' Policy.

The Company has two plants: Shikoku Operations in Imabari, Ehime and Yamaguchi Operations in Ube, Yamaguchi, and is actively engaged in community-oriented activities aimed at working with people in the regions the plants are located to ensure the prosperity and development of the regions.

As part of its contributions to the local community, Shikoku Operations provide plant tours mainly for neighboring elementary and junior high school students, and work experience (internship system) for local high school and vocational school students.

Taiyo Oil ensures that it considers "what it can do as a corporation," acting accordingly, and to be engaged proactively in supportive activities such as social welfare activities and sports.

Taiyo Oil is working with Kochi Prefecture and Ino Town and also with Ehime Prefecture and Imabari City to promote forest regeneration activities. In the "Sun(Taiyo)-nurtured Forest" where we conduct our activities, volunteers such as former employees, employees and their families carry out forest regeneration activities with an aim toward regenerating the abundant power of the forest to absorb CO2 and protect the watershed.

In order to support education that fosters rich feelings and emotions among infants and children in regions, Taiyo Oil has been carrying out proactive sponsorship and co-sponsorship activities related to emotional education events and so on.
