Taiyo Oil wishes to announce that it has participated in the “Drill for Transporting Petroleum Products During a Major Natural Disaster” at its Shikoku Operations, cooperating in concert with the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, the Shikoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and Tokushima Prefecture, with the aim of reinforcing links to ensure fuel supplies during a disaster.
This drill was done as part of Tokushima prefecture’s comprehensive disaster drill, which assumes a major earthquake and tsunami originating in the Nankai Trough off southern Wakayama prefecture. The goal was to reinforce the system for the smooth supply, receipt and transport of fuel in a disaster. This involves strengthening the emergency energy distribution network, enhance liaisons between the parties involved, and undertaking preparatory coordination.
Through this type of drill, Taiyo Oil is working to further enhance liaisons as well as establish a supply support system for petroleum products in a major disaster.
