Taiyo Oil provides support for "28th Ehime Shimbun Primary School Book Report Contest"

On Saturday, December 3rd, the awards ceremony for the 28th Ehime Shimbun Primary School Book Report Contest, for which Taiyo Oil is a special cosponsor, was held at Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel Matsuyama.
This year's contest attracted 656 entries from pupils at 113 primary schools in Ehime prefecture as well as individual based entries, of which 1 was selected for Top Prize, 5 were selected for Special Prizes, 12 for Excellence Prizes, and 18 for Honorable Mentions: a total of 36 awards for which each winner received a certificate.
The Taiyo Oil SOLATO Prize for Best Overall Report was given to “‘Ryujin Nanako no Boken’ wo Yonde (You Should Read ‘Adventure of Nanako Ryujin’)” by Koiki Watabe, a fifth grade student at Matsuyama Yuzuki Elementary School who read and wrote her thoughts regarding “Ryujin Nanako no Boken (Adventure of Nanako Ryujin),” which was authored by Rieko Koshimizu and published in 2006. Ms. Watabe’s book report explains how she applied what she learned from the book regarding “freedom” and “responsibility” in her own actual experiences, what she felt, and what she overcame, and her writing makes the reader interested in the book. Ms. Watabe won a prize in this contest four years ago as a first grade student, so this is her second win.
After the awards ceremony, a gathering was held to which the award winners, their guardians, and other family members were invited. Taiyo Oil's brand character "SOLATO-kun" was also in attendance who further heightened the celebratory mood through a quiz session and other interactions.
Taiyo Oil will continue supporting activities of this kind that aim to bring up upstanding leaders of tomorrow from among today's youth as part of its social action programs.
