Taiyo Oil set up a booth at the “Imabari ABC (Ebisu) Festival,” which was held on March 11 (Sat.) & 12 (Sun.) in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.
This event is aimed at promoting the development of the area, and it has been held since 2012 around the same time of year as the “Ebisu-gire” and “Ebisu-ichi” festivals in the downtown part of Imabari. The “ABC” in the Japanese name refers to “screen images (A-zou), the B-1 Grand Prix, and characters,” and events take place focused on these themes. Each year, several dozen thousand people visit this festival.
This year marks the second time that Taiyo Oil participated in this event. The Taiyo Oil booth featured SOLATO-kun “walks” and a “stage,” and fund-raising activities were carried out related to the “Donation for Children of Fukushima Affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.” This donation is to support children who lost their parents or are experiencing hardships as the result of the Great East Japan Earthquake, six years after the earthquake occurred. The funds from this activity, which amounted to 101,647 yen, were provided to Fukushima Prefecture on March 16 (Thu.).
Going forward, Taiyo Oil will continue to carry out initiatives to help people who are experiencing hardships through participation in events such as these in the future.
