"Sun (Taiyo) - nurtured Forest of Ino Town, Kochi"; Taiyo Oil organizes 12th Forest Regeneration Volunteer Activities

Taiyo Oil organized "Sun (Taiyo)-nurtured forest of Ino Town", the 12th Forest Regeneration Volunteer Activities on Saturday, November 18 in Ino Town, Agawa-gun, Kochi Prefecture as described below.
It was raining on the day, and had been from the day before, so out of concerns for safety, the white cedar thinning and cross-cutting scheduled for the morning was canceled. So a forestry talk was given by staff of the Ino Town Hall about the role of forests in people's lives, enhancing the participants' understanding of this topic. After the forestry talk, a hands-on workshop was conducted using timber offcuts, which was great fun for everyone, from children to adults.
Taiyo Oil has been participating in Kochi prefecture's "Forestation Project with Environmentally Friendly Companies" since November 2006. The project, in Japan's most heavily forested prefecture, aims to enhance CO2 absorption and recharge groundwater sources through activities such as forest thinning and replanting. The forest that Taiyo Oil is active in is called the "Ino Town Sun-Nurtured Forest" and the company undertakes volunteer activities and hands-on learning using natural resources.
Taiyo Oil will continue to conduct forest regeneration activities in order to protect forests and so that we can live together with nature.
