Notice of Organization and Personnel Changes

This is to announce the following organization changes and assignments of executive officers, effective from April 1, decided upon at the Board of Directors meeting on January 31, 2014.

Organization Changes(as of April 1, 2014)

Changes

  • Sales Planning Department is to be established at headquarters, and will comprise two groups: Sales & Logistics Planning Group and Market Trading Group. (Market Trading Group will be transferred from Supply & Demand Coordination Department.)
  • Sales Coordination & Promotion Department at headquarters will be renamed Retail Planning & Promotion Department, and will comprise two groups: Sales Coordination Group and Service Station Strategy Planning Group. (Shikoku Branch)
  • Supply & Demand Coordination Department at headquarters will be restructured to comprise three groups: Supply Coordination Group (renamed from Supply & Logistics Coordination Group), Industrial Marketing Group, and Lorry Operation Center (transferred from Sales Coordination & Promotion Department).
  • The Eastern Shikoku Sales Office will be merged with the Shikoku Branch (i.e., from 5 branches, 2 offices → 5 branches, 1 office).

Aims

  • To newly establish Sales Planning Department that comprehensively controls marketing strategy for the marketing of all oil products, including logistics, and achieve the mid- to long-term oil marketing plan.
  • In order to further promote strengthening of the oil retail business, which is an important feature of the next period’s mid-term business plan, Retail Planning & Promotion Department is to be located in Shikoku. A support network is to be built for Taiyo Oil Sales Co., Ltd. to help realize the company’s West Japan-focused business strategy and serve as the kernel of the group’s further expansion. At the same time, management resources will be focused on the Shikoku, Kyushu and Chugoku branches.
  • To further strengthen the petrochemical business.
  • To maintain the organizational structure resulting from the large scale changes undertaken at both the Shikoku and Yamaguchi Operations.
