Taiyo Oil to offer seats to total of 720 people during season (all 30 home games, 24 seats per game)
Taiyo Oil is once again carrying out activities in which it reserves 24 seats for all home games of the Ryukyu Golden Kings, a team of the B-League professional basketball league, and offers the seats to people from elementary, junior high, and high schools, schools for the disabled, and social welfare facilities in Okinawa, and starting with the 2021/2022 season, it is naming these seats “Taiyo Oil/Nansei Sekiyu Happy Seats for People of Okinawa.”
These activities are social contribution activities that the company has been continuously carrying out in Okinawa Prefecture since launching them in FY2017 when Nansei Sekiyu K.K. (Nishihara-cho, Nakagami-gun, Okinawa Prefecture) became a part of the Taiyo Oil Group.
Starting from this fiscal year, Taiyo Oil will work in collaboration with Nansei Sekiyu, which has been running oil business operations in the Okinawa region for a long period of time, to carry out the activities based on a two-company structure of “Taiyo Oil/Nansei Sekiyu (Taiyo Oil Group)” with the aim of contributing to the rich emotional development of children and students in the prefecture through experiences of watching professional sports and so on. Furthermore, in order to enable the people of Okinawa to feel more familiar with the activities, the company has changed the name of the seats from “patronage seats” to “Happy Seats for People of Okinawa.”
On September 30 (Thu.), the season opener of the B-League was held at Okinawa Arena, and Taiyo Oil invited its first 24 guests of the season. After the game ended, a commemorative photograph of the guests was taken on the court.
Going forward, Taiyo Oil will continue to provide support to the children and students of Okinawa Prefecture who will be responsible for the next generation.
