With the aim of coexisting with local communities, Taiyo Oil utilizes a tax system to support regional revitalization (the Corporate Hometown Tax) to continuously support the priority projects of local government organizations with which it has close ties through its business activities.
In March of this year, Taiyo Oil made donations for the third consecutive year to the Ehime Prefectural Government and the Imabari Municipal Government, which govern the area where the Taiyo Oil Shikoku Operations are located, and donation presentation ceremonies were recently held for both local governments.
Concerning these donations, the Ehime Prefectural Government is promoting the maintaining of an environment where the ideals of marriage and child-rearing can be achieved as part of measures against population decline, and their donation was used for measures against the declining birthrate implemented in collaboration between the prefecture and its municipalities. For the Imabari Municipal Government, as part of a project to maintain a community resilient to disasters, the donation was allocated to the enhancement of evacuation sheltering in preparation for disasters and used for purchases such as emergency supplies.
At the presentation ceremonies, both local governments expressed their gratitude for the donations and explained the progress of their projects and their future initiatives. Recognizing that the sustainable development of local communities is the foundation of its business, Taiyo Oil will work together with local communities to take on challenges and deepen its relationships as a partner striving together to build a better society, while continuing to contribute to local communities through its business activities.
